About the President and Founder

Tyrone Canion Jr. is the founder and CEO of Canion3D Inc., a 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing company he started in 2015. During this period, Ty has evolved into a trusted advisor in the technology industry and a pioneer in the 3D Printing/AM industry.

Ty was born in Buffalo, NY, USA . He is a retired USAF veteran devoting more than 1/3 of his life to serving his country. Tyrone’s journey to 3D Printing began with his humble beginnings growing up during the 1980s and 1990s with a curious mind as to how virtually everything imaginable worked and how to build things from the ground up to make almost anything. As an underachieving student, his mind and interests were more in tune with the curriculum that was not taught in traditional academic settings. Tyrone’s interests/mindset could be interpreted as: imaginative, musical, technical, and spiritual. Using these characteristics has given Tyrone the gifts of a forward-thinking and providing persona where he looks to introduce a mindset about thinking beyond the typical depths of society. Tyrone’s vision is one where humanity can freely share thoughts, ideas, and experiments, among other things, to make our world a much more livable place from one corner to the other. With Canion3D, Tyrone bestows this gift to the world for those unfamiliar with this fantastic technology, a starting point of what could be the link toward revolutionary freedom like no other.

Tyrone began his entrepreneurial journey while serving in the USAF, by offering IT services to businesses in Las Vegas. Since then, he has started several other businesses with varying degrees of success which has taught him valuable lessons about life and business. With Canion3D Tyrone’s vision is to not only be financially successful, but positively impact the lives of those who are looking for less expensive though effective ways to improve their lives and communities is at the forefront of what we deem successful. That is why he sees Construction 3D Printing as a tremendous way to help in remedying many of the problems our world faces when it comes to giving everyone access to safe, secure, and affordable housing globally. Tyrone’s ultimate goal is to be one of the leaders in the 3D Printing industry for decades to come.

Tyrone is a MBA graduate from the Forbes School of Business and Technology at the University of Arizona (GC), a Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship from Ashford University, and AAS degrees in Information Systems/Information Management from CCAF. He is a holder of several IT certifications and a skilled computer programmer. He enjoys the outdoors, traveling the globe. hiking, weightlifting, yoga, reading, music, art, and bio hacking.
